subject: Ornament switch over

Dear Ruth,
Thanks for the comeback and for the additional suggestions. I guess
i am just going to have to let them leak, as i am already paying a
penalty for the thickness to go through the mails.
This is just one of a long line of card/ornaments that i have done for
Christmas. Each year i try to use a different medium. Some i have done
were wooden teddybears, soft sculptured carolers, cs- many patterns,
etc.. Until i got into RS, i would write the verse, and then hand
print [when i was hard up] or calligraph the verse and have it printed
up. I/we would then hand make the fronts. One year i made illuminated
scrolls. We mailed them rolled. I used part of John chapter 1, so it
was suitable for hanging through the year.
Frankly i am getting tired of it all. I have determined that next
year i will just get some NICE commercial cards and send them. Between
the time we get down here and get settled in, and card mailing time, is
so short that there just isn't time to do it well and i'm ready to
throw in the towel.
That is the same reason that i haven't joined the COE exchange. Too
busy that time of year, as though there were a time of year that i
wasn't running under the whip. To be honest, the things i do are taken
on freely [as opposed to having to make a living] but this is just one
thing where i am no longer willing.
Today, we played musical chairs with our furniture. Our needs
have changed so we visited the Salvation Army store and bought a different
couch. It is worn and torn but structurally strong . I got a throw to
go over it. The main thing is that it stands firmly up off the floor.
The one we were using required both of us to pull ourselves up on some
thing or to roll off on to the floor to get out of it. I am so tired
from lugging the stuff that was in the way, that i could cry.
Thanks for providing a shoulder. Shalom, ll
