RW>RN> Why would anyone in their right mind paint over rust with expensive RW>RN> paint? RW> I haven't a clue. I will say that I got this car from a guy who didn't RW> know squat about cars, but I doubt that he would have had the car painted RW> like it is. Then that suggests he bought it from someone who painted over the rust hoping for a quick sale to a member of the PT Barnum Club. (-: RW> I agree. The paint job looks good at 20 feet, but don't get any closer. A pity. The car looks great from a distance in the photo. RW> It'll be one of the new type paints that come on modern cars. My Lincoln has been run into thrice -- once by a vehicle of the same color that backed into my trunk lid, the 2nd time was by a school teacher across the street, who backed into my left quarter panel with her same color as mine vehicle, and the 3rd time was when my daughter was using my car (I get to drive her '98 Suburban) and something colored school bus yellow struck the back bumper. No biggee, but I get mildly upset when things like that happen and the perps don't take the responsibility. The first time wasn't very noticeable, the 2nd time I got paid for and the 3rd time is what is bugging me. RW> OMG, a digital dash. We owned an 84 El Dorado that had that digital RW> stuff. Just the message display center is digital. Everything else is hands and face, just like on a normal car. (-: My '84 Continental was all digital. RW> It would read 70mpg going down hill. It also had a readout of the RW> distance one can travel with the present amount of fuel in the tank. RW> BTW, it wasn't bad on fuel either, averaging 25mpg on trips. That sounds like an all digital dash. I'm happy mine isn't. RW> Get me in my Z28 and I sometimes tend to drive like that too. Yeah, but even if I think about doing something like that, the HPD, the TPSO and the LSP would be on me like white on rice. (-: Regards, Roger ...
