Typo. Grrrrrrr.........

Never saw it as much of any use. But yes, the CE-232 can control most
anything of that nature by its SCRIPT function..... The SCRIPT feature is a
very basic sort of BASIC programming with maybe 30-50 commands at the most,
but which can be used to make the scanner do slick stuff, same as you might
do by hand.
Here, I'll show you a simple one:
=== Cut ===
/ BIRDFIND.SCR
keyclr
msg1- This script can be used to find and make a log file of all the
msg2- "birdies" that exist in your scanner. The process takes about
msg3- 60-90 minutes, depending on computer speed and scanner speed.
msg4- Short out the antenna terminals so no signals can be picked up
msg5- and set the ATT switch to -10 dB. Set SEARCH LIMITS of 25 MHz &
msg6- 1300 MHz with a SEARCH ready to start upwards from 25 MHz. Put
msg7- in the MANUAL mode before starting this script. Set the SQUELCH
msg8- so that no sounds come in and get READY!
msg9- ***** Press G to start this script ******

msg6- Stop script by pressing CTRL+A at any time

msg8- ....or, stop it after SEARCH has cycled past 1300 MHz....

This puppy automatically searches UP from 25 MHz to 1300 MHz, and every time
it stops, the freq is AutoLogged to a textfile, and then SEARCH is resumed.
The scenario repeats for every stop. So it takes about 90-mins or so to run
the whole range, but then you have a text file that contains all the birdies
in that scanner. A minor bit of editing later, and that same file can be
piped into the CE-232's REJECT feature to prevent the scanner from ever
stopping on a freq contained in that file. Thus you can do SEARCHES across
bands or band segments that contain birdies.
Not only that, but you can add freqs to that file....like for pagers,
computer data channels, tones, etc, so that the scanner won't ever stop on
them.
The script feature automates the process of scanning, and does whatever you
want done. IF-THEN-ELSE-AND-OR logic are available to make decisions.
Pretty cool, actually. If I say so meself. :-)
