Why is this a difficult thing to do? Since this is the cloest echo you have
to it, you'll post it here regardless. While control of audio devices via
MIDI is probably topical. you might get a larger range of advice on these
topics in the MIDI-Net echos.
Depending what you are using for cable, loss wise, you can possibly go 300
feet or more without using any repeaters and not lose integrity of the
corners on the data. It is fairly easy to build or buy a repeater device to
read weak data, waveshape it and output it again. I suggest low capacitance
cable regardless, and make it shielded, like a high quality microphone cable.
What do you intend to control remotely via MIDI? EQs at the Amp racks during
room tuning? MIDI Show control of lighting, etc?
