A similar type wrench but with the jaws at 90 degrees to the handle was called a "monkey wrench" but this has been about 60-70 years since they were made/used. Ford made them a normal accessory (like the jack, lug wrench, crank) with the Model A, Model T and I think the very early V8s. All of those cars I had came with them.
