Herbert to leave Sauber

(7-Jul-98) - Johnny Herbert is believed to be likely to leave Sauber at the
end of the season.

The British driver admitted to talking to Williams, Prost and Jordan,
saying, "I am only doing it because I don't know what Peter is
thinking. Maybe he wants Heinz-Harald back."

"I am happy with Sauber, although obviously I would like the results
to be better. But the potential is there. We need some luck and then we can
be running in the top five or six."

Peter Sauber, owner of the Swiss team, is said to feel that Herbert is not
performing to his full potential and is thought to be keen on Ralf
Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
