A simple-minded program isn't difficult. At least TWICE, I've written one on
the fly to wipe out the CMOS of a computer that has screwed-up settings (this
happens once in a while, and the cure is to just wipe the CMOS and let the
BIOS put in default values).
I usually just run up QBASIC:
for a = 0 to 255
   out &h70,a
   out &h71,a
next a
The value written to &H71 can be any value instead of A. I use A because
writing 0 sometimes causes the checksum(s) to be correct. I want them to NOT
be correct, so that the BIOS will rebuild it all from scratch.
Some computers, such as some Packard Bell models, have a password jumper.
