RJ>KG>> Did you know that the current commissioner of baseball is also
RJ>KG>>the owner of the Braves?
RJ>Ted Turner is the commisioner now? Wow! Where have I been? Thanks.
Oops, I meant the Brewers. This is what I get for watching a Braves game
right before turning on my computer. :)
RJ> He had better stay out of this because it seems
RJ>KG>>a little fishy to me that the suspension happed because of a play
RJ>KG>>a in game where the Indians were playing against his team.
RJ>Yeah, but that is why the league president handled the situation
RJ>almost entirely. Selig stayed silent for that very reason. Imagine if
RJ>the Brewers were contending. This is the biggest reason that the
RJ>Great Game needs to hire a commish. Seligs hands are tied in all
RJ>matters regarding AL teams, lest it looks as if his rulings would
RJ>hinder some other team while helping his. (For example, if he himself
RJ>had suspended Belle.)
I think that someone who was once a player should be Commisioner.
Someone who understands the players point of veiw. How about Reggie
Jackson? Or at least someone like him who played for many years and
for more than one team.
An owner has no business trying to be commisioner. Conflicting
interests.
