The remakes.  I see where you're going with this, but it doesn't hold
true all the time.  I prefer the original "King Kong" over both the
updated remake from the 70's with Jeff Bridges and the new one by Peter
Jackson, and I like the '70's version of The Three Musketeers (with
Michael York) over any version that came since (yes, I know that's not
the first filmed version either...) and I've seen those versions after
the newer ones.
