  I practise safe cockie. The Mortein traps are black plastic with a
hidden wad of disgusting goop cockies find madly attractive laced with
poison. You don't see them at all. Mostly, they go off and are eaten
by their friends in the nest, but occasionally you see one on his back
waving his legs at you in a friendly way.
