RW> You may be right. The guy I bought it from was a retired Austin cop. :o)

I wonder why he didn't notice it or maybe he did and got a cheaper price on the car.

RW> I've put in in a few car shows, but there are so many tri-fives that are
RW> much nicer, it wasn't worth it.

There was an antique car show in the Wal Mart parking lot about a month
ago. One of the cars was a '57 Bel Air. I started to go get a closer look
at it, but didn't because it would have brought back some bittersweet
memories.

RW> That would bug me to no end.

It still does!

RW> That was what the El Dorado was like. A small read-out in the middle of
RW> the dash and the rest of the instruments were hands and face.

One thing I did to this Lincoln I wish I hadn't. I converted it from air
suspension to spring struts. Not as good a ride, but at least the coils
don't leak after seven years. (-:

RW>RN> That sounds like an all digital dash. I'm happy mine isn't.

RW> It was just over the heater/AC controls.

That's where my message display is. There's a button I can press that will
give me a checkout of all the car's vitals.

RW> The same here. I have to be discreet in how and where I do it. When the
RW> cops see a white haired older guy driving, they probably think I'm
RW> driving junior's car.

I have one of those, too. He still drives like his hair is on fire.

Regards,

Roger
