the previous troubles i had was with the rules files containing a long row
of dashes... whatever was being used on the other end saw the first two or
three as a tear line and tor off everything after them... i tried to
explain that tear lines also have a trailing space and they should be
checking for that... that would avoid the problem altogether... deity knows
that numerous other BBS and reader packages went through the same lesson...
so i ended up changing the dividers to repeating dash-equals (-=-=-=-) and
there were other problems... trying to remove the files and take them out
of the record was painful and never resolved... so anyway, i just don't
worry about it any more... the rules rules are posted to the echos at least
once a month... they're easy to find...

the real take-away is that if one has a field in their echotag's record
that needs to be blanked, they should just write you a private message
asking you to manually clear it... then the question is what is/are the
best address(es) to get to you and not the echolist bot?
