| subject: | [news] Long wheelbase Ferrari at German GP |
Long wheelbase Ferrari at German GP (22-Jul-98) - Ferrari will not yet run the new long wheelbase chassis in Austria this weekend but instead will debut it during the German Grand Prix the next weekend at the Hockenheim Ring. The chassis was tested for the first time last week at Monza. The new chassis contains a spacer of approximately 15 cm between the engine and the transmission. "This is good, I like it," said Schumacher after the test. "At this track [Monza] the long wheelbase is worth about four tenth's of a second." The long wheelbase chassis proves especially valuable at high speed circuits according to Ferrari. --- Msged/386 4.20 beta 4* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Melbourne, Australia (3:635/728.4{at}fidonet) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/267 |
