Been there and done that too. The rotor I'm going to use, I've owned for
many years, yet it is brand new (Alliance 100 Tenna-rotor). I was going to
install it to turn a pair of UHF Quagis that I built out of PVC and #12
house wire. When I took them down from a 40 foot pushup pole, they
disintegrated in my hands. So, I put the rotor back in the box and kept it
in storage and it made the move to Texas, three years ago.
