Depends on who you ask I guess, but I never bothered with
Roxy, our old ROttweiler. She was about 13-14 somewhere in
there, we're not really sure as we adopted her off the
street in New ORleans. Old story, told before in this echo.
Just fed her straight PUrina dog chow all the time we had
her.
Otoh we started schotze our current ROtt puppy chow for the
first six months of her life, in the understanding that at
least for the first year we should. The vet told us to take her off the
puppy chow and put her on adult dog food because she was "growing too
fast" according to the vet.
I'd gauge it on how active my dog was in your situation I
guess. sUpposedly the "senior" food is formulated for dogs
that are less active in their old age.
