Hello Laurence,
    Thanks for the lesson. I was always amazed at the way 
some regulators get treated but keep on working. I guess we can thank 
the designers and the simple design of most regulators for that. 
Rental gear can be mistreated and cause many a problem depending on 
which shop is renting it out. A buddy of mine rents all the time and I 
have seen some pretty shabby stuff. His depth gauge on his rental 
equipment I have seen reading 20 feet shallower then we actually are!
(we were at 90' his gauge read 70').
