Frentzen to Prost?

(22-Jul-98) - Heinz-Harald Frentzen is considering leaving Williams for
Prost at the end of the season according to German magazine Sport-Auto.

It is believed that Williams have informed Frentzen that he would have to
accept a pay cut if he wants to stay with the team that have struggled this
year. This, alongside the team's poor performance appear to have prompted
the German into considering a move.

He has also warned any potential replacement of the problems they face and
is reported to have said that anyone hoping to win races in the next couple
of years with Williams won't face an easy task.

Meanwhile Williams' star driver, Jacques Villeneuve, is even closer to
signing with BAR. It is believed that the Canadian will have signed for
Craig Pollock's new outfit by the end of the week.

Zanardi now appears the most likely replacement for Villeneuve and admitted
that he had signed for the team though other sources seem keen to play down
such rumours.

Other drivers linked to Williams have included the team's test driver, Juan
Pablo Montoya and Saubers' Johnny Herbert.
