Anyone installed a business system lately or have some recommendations/advice?

We're gonna have to replace our aging TelRad system in about a year, likely
after our remote office moves.  I'm just starting to get into researching
what is currently available and what might be coming down the pike in our
timeframe.  I really don't want to get stuck in too a proprietary system
but I'm not sure how that can be prevented.

These guys like coolness over security, but I won't recommend the former if
it comes at the expense of the latter.
