Our FIRST time out with Mr X and our new carriage was a HUGE success!!
e
were in the LIGHT UP LABELLE Christmas Parade tonight.
Mr X was EXCELLENT -- all the kids wanted to come over and pet him (no
problem -- he LOVES it!!) ...... the older adults watching the parade stood
p
and clapped when we went by.
It was chilly -- I thought maybe X would be full of vim and vinegar -- he
wasn't -- he was calm as all get out -- did this like he'd been doing it all
his life !!
We decorated the carriage up with RED Christmas Bows - and I put some Red
Bows in X's Mane and on his bridle ..... he DID look elegant indeed .
Now, you have to picture this parade -- there was the Middle School Band
--
the High School Band -- The Womens Club officials in a Convertible -- Several
Boy and Girl Scout troups -- the Lawn Mower Racing Club (and umpteen riding
lawn mowers -- everyone was dressed up), Santa Claus and the American Legion
guys - a HUGE Garbage Truck decorated up with Christmas Lights (it WAS clever
but ONLY in LaBelle would there be a decorated up Garbage Truck )
-- there was a float (by who I don't know) that had "dancing reindeers" on it
-- Several kids decorated up their bikes ....... and then US at the tail end
of
the parade and we had the SWAMP CABBAGE QUEEN riding in our carriage.
EVERYONE in LaBelle showed up to watch the Christmas parade -- I can't
believe that many people actually came. It was chilly (but not as cold as I
thought it would be) ..... the temps started to really drop as the sun went
down.
All in all we had a good time ....... it gave us exposure for our
arriage
business and I made a few contacts too.
Two weeks from yesterday (on Dec 18th) we have that 3 hour carriage job
for
the Open House in LaBelle ..... we were hired for 3 hours to take people for
carriage rides ...... it oughtta' be fun.
