True.

Right.

Ppoint uses semaphor files? News to me.

Is this in W98? That's the only Windoz OS I know that does that.

Ppoint doesn't use semaphor files.

When IREX exits properly, the semaphors "rexbusy.0" and
"rexup.0" it
creates is deleted. When your system crashes, IREX can't delete these
files. I wrote a batch file that goes like this, so you don't have to go
looking for the file you want to delete. You can run it from a DOS window.
REM ==========NO_REX.BAT==============
:NO-REXUP
cd\irex\flags
if not exist \irex\flags\rexup.0 goto STARTREX
if exist \irex\flags\rexbusy.0 goto NOTBUSY
goto end
:STARTREX
if exist \irex\flags\rexbusy.0 del \irex\sema\rexbusy.0
cd\irex
rexw.exe -daemon -tray
goto end
:NOTBUSY
del \irex\flags\rexbusy.0
goto end
:end
exit
I also use a batch file to start my reader that stops my mail tosser from
tossing mail until the reader is closed. That way, there are no messages
sent out that I haven't reviewed for errors or a message that goes out
before I finish writing it. That could be several hours, as my job
requires that I be 'on-call' and I could leave in the middle of a message.
