 Probably. Although the Dr. bounces around in time, HIS time is still 
linear (at least to his perception). So when the Dr. "visits" a time has 
been before, he is "known" as both Messrs Baker and Tennant. This has 
been used a couple of times to "revisit" old companions for instance. 
Another example would be Teh Five Doctors where each appeared with their 
own timeline. 
   Thus, if one was doing a prequel, it would seem one would have to 
have the doctor in the form he was then or it wouldn't be a real 
prequel. Excuse while I join you in an aspirin (g).
