Unfortunately, not. Apparently, the writer gave out the source code and
hung it up a while ago. I was hedging upgrading to 3.01 based on the need
for an automatic updater like MA'AM, but I bit the bullet and upgraded, and
it's not hard, once you get the hang of it.

Just use a cut-n-paste editor that lets you open up multiple files, like
QEDIT. Open squish.cfg, backbone.na, and msgarea.ctl, and cut and paste
between them. It works nicely for me, and I hardly miss MA'AM.

SEAL may also be able to create msgarea.ctl files - 0.40 apparently will be
upgraded soon, one would hope it might support the 3.0 structures?
