The problem is with FD, it only recognises up to 28800 baud ie:
CONNECT 28800, 26400, 22000 etc...
When FD was written that was the highest modem speed, the only other thing it 
recognises is the DTE connect, ie the speed you've locked the Com port at. 
(19200, 38400, 57600, 64000, 115200).
The way around this problem is first make sure your modem will send the DCE 
rate (Actual connect rate) on most Hayes modems that'll be s95=3. Then run 
FDSETUP and then goto Modem|Default Settings|Connect Messages.  Edit the 
38400, and 57600 connect messages to reflect 33600 and 31200.
It's not really a fix but it shall have to do :).  I'm not too sure how it 
will affect the DTE rate generated, but it should pass the correct DCE rate.
If your running Maximus using your fossil locked then it shall be fine. (Last 
sentence to be on topic :)
