Depends who you are asking. IF you know what you are doing then you
shouldn't have any problems. If you haven't been properly trained then
opening yourself up psychically can result in your being a channel for
earthbound and/or negative entities. Would you know what to do if that
happened ?

Plenty of channels around. Some good, some hopeless. If you want to
learn about these things then one of the places you should investigate
is your local spiritualist church and/or group. They will usually have
teachers of mediumship and/or books on the topic.
