Interesting thought - maybe 3D Realms should do a game to this effect! But
it would almost certainly have to involve an assassin, since snipers just sit
in book depositories and shoot presidents. Assassins, on the other hand,
usually have to get in close, sniping only being dictated when the
opportunity presents itself.
But could you imagine? You have to break into a massive office complex to
take out a CEO, for instance. You get a silenced pistol, a grappling hook
(finally, a practical use for one besides CTF), and perhaps some Shadow
Warrior-style grenades. This would require even more stealth than in
GoldenEye; one false move, and you might botch the whole mission (since the
target would try to leave).
But some of what you'd like is in Future vs. Fantasy, the famous Quake
add-on. The sniper class is wonderful for the more accurate among us; one
good hit from your rifle (sufficiently upgraded, of course) and your target
is no longer in one coherent piece.
