CH> There are people who leave tv's on ALL THE TIME. My ex-girlfriend did that. Her TV stays on 24/7 even when no one is home. I didn't question her about that because I figured if she wanted me to know she would have told me. It was none of my business, which is why I didn't ask. CH> 1. they think i'ts a sercurity device. Someone won't break in if they CH> think someone is home; the tv is on so they assume someone is home. That's possible for the paranoid. Having said that, if someone really wants to break into your home because you have something valuable, a TV that's on will not stop them from a worthwhile theft. CH> 2. They think the dog and cat will be happily entertained while they CH> the owner are away at work all day. Contrary to uninformed opinions, dogs and cats do not watch TV. They don't see in two dimensions. I feel a disagreement coming on here about this. CH> 3.Apartment/condo managers leave tv's on in models all the time. They CH> think somehow having the place decorated to the nines plus a tv on CH> will be what makes you want to buy/rent the place it. And some think CH> 9' celings are 'soaring' LOL! Have you spent a lot of time in motels, Cindy? (-:[ CH> 4. In hospitals they are on all the time in just about every patient's CH> room and waiting room.... Not when the room is unoccupied. In occupied rooms, the TVs are usually turned off during visiting hours, unless the visitors and the patient want to see something on it. CH> 5. In sports bars and many restaurants now have big huge plasam tv's CH> all over the place on all the time. Are they open 24/7? CH> Can we say ORWELL? Parlor walls? Yup! I can say them, too, but they won't have any meaning. In my case, it will simply be the pronouncing of words. CH> Of course the GOOD thing is: We don't have to watch it. Exactly right!
