My ex-girlfriend did that.  Her TV stays on 24/7 even when no one is home. 
I didn't question her about that because I figured if she wanted me to know
she would have told me.  It was none of my business, which is why I didn't
ask.

That's possible for the paranoid.  Having said that, if someone really
wants to break into your home because you have something valuable, a TV
that's on will not stop them from a worthwhile theft.

Contrary to uninformed opinions, dogs and cats do not watch TV.  They don't
see in two dimensions.  I feel a disagreement coming on here about this.

Not when the room is unoccupied.  In occupied rooms, the TVs are usually
turned off during visiting hours, unless the visitors and the patient want
to see something on it.

I can say them, too, but they won't have any meaning.  In my case, it will
