This is an email reply to George wrt my getting into a group he
invited me into and I was accepted but must wait to receive my ID code
via snail mail. (I think the group is based in Canada and I'm not. T
his could explain the delay.)

oh well thanks [about the post George sent me where the group manager
explains delays could take up to six months(!)]. Why does it take so
long? I mean there's other things you can sign up for where you don't
have to wait a year. I wonder.

Anyway George I'd like to present something there. I'm burning to do
this and it frustrates me no end I have to WAIT forever to do it. :(

I want to address this problem we are all too painfully well aware
of. (having our disability used as a 'cause' for a problem that would
occur just as likely for/with the non disabled....)

Case to point. Ten years ago when my daughter was ten, she had two
friends aged 8 (identical twins) over our house on a daily basis. For
nearly all my life I have 'watched' kids and never had anything
happen. Now at this time seeing how I had lost my hearing the ignorant
mother of these twins didn't want them to go into our new above ground
pool because ... as she said to my daughter, "your mother can't
hear'.. I wish I had set this ignorant (bleep) straight! But I was too
angry and in fact I'm still angry about this incident. People are so
effingly stupid you know?

I would have said to her. I'd like to educate you on a couple points.
First off I can SEE. SEcond off, if you ever watch Rescue 911, all
those kids falling into pools are the children of HEARING parents!

But ooooh no I stayed quiet because if I hadn't perhaps the bleep
wouldn't let her darlings come to our house at all and this would
upset my daughter. People are so blasted (bleeping ) STUPID!

I know I can post it in Abled in Fido. Gee didn't have to wait more
than a day to get in there.

PS:how would YOU have handled this situation? Is it RUDE to correct
the rude. The ignorant? WHy is it rude to correct the ignorant?
