JF> But Jay Wilbur's with Epic now, and guess what they're
JF> doing with AI. A connection, perhaps?
er...jay was in 'biz'... i doubt he had anything to do with the engine.
JF> There's going to be more than one enemy, of course, just not as many
JF> as you usually see. In one Quake I map, there are 105 enemies on
JF> NORMAL difficulty, I think. Now, let's face it - what's
JF> the likelihood that one lone person, no matter how heavily-
JF> armed, can take all those people out? In reality, a dozen
JF> would probably leave you gasping for air by the time you've
JF> killed them all. That's probably the ideal with Prey.
in reality who teleports onto another planet carrying a plasma gun with
the intention of slaughtering mutant space zombies..
if you want reality, get a rifle and kill your parents...i prefer video
games.
KP> most people dont want to kill just one thing..thats boring...
KP> who do you know plays 2 player deathmatch? or spawns
KP> just one reaper bot??
JF> You're assuming that this target is easy to kill, which
JF> WOULD make it boring. What if you're pelting the walls
JF> with gunfire as your target dives for cover? That's
JF> Hollywood-level excitement.
still... 1 enemy = not as much fun as a whole bunch...
the excitement of a bloody killing spree appeals to the hunter in all of
us.. i would say that 8 out of 10 people would rather kill 30 somewhat
less intelligent enemies than one really smart one.. one enemy is still only
one enemy and thats just not as much fun..
