Alan, have you got on ESS 's web site. I forgot thier url, but I picked up
the following ESS soundcard drivers for NT from them in January. I found ESS
with Exite search. The files are:
1688nt.zip 80460 01-22-97 ESS 1688 sound card drivers for windows nt
.5x
                               (version 1.05-16green or audiowave plugnplay
                               cards)
ESSnt4.zip 155233 01-22-97 ess sound card drivers for windows nt 4.0.
suitable for all ess sound cards from 488 to
                               1888 series cards
They are fre'qable from here, Have you tried these drivers yet?
If you think they will do you anygood I can e-mail them to you, but you might
be better off to do an excite search for ESS like I did and get right on
thier Web sight. They seemed to have lots of files and drivers.
I can't be any help to you with the above drivers. I haven't tried them yet.
I set my ESS1688 Sound card up using the stock NT creative labes SB16 drivers
and it worked fine.
Let me know if you can't find ESS's web site and want me to e-mail these
files to you. (I think I still have the ESS url in my web browser at work.
Sorry I don't have it here at home. We use an AWE64 on the home computer.
