I should have been more explicit. When I want to start a new year I do the
following:
1. Rename the current file, such as Qdata-95 to Qdata-96.
2. Use the start a new year option, naming the saved archive file as
Qdata-95 (as it was originally).
3. The Qdata-96 file was purged of all reconciled entries during this
process and I then delete the current Cash Account and start a new
one using the old balance as the starting balance.
This accomplishes what I think is your objective. Be aware, however, this
process loses all the old cash account scheduled transactions and such.
These must be all entered again for the new cash account.
Hope this helps.....Al
... I haven't lost my mind; it's backed up on tape somewhere!
