As he later clarified. Problem is that both Gerald's
attrib /q +r %info ^ del /qz %trash ^ attrib /q -r %info
and my suggested
setdos /d0 ^ del /eqz %trash ^ setdos /d1
are very temporary. The moment any file creation/deletion
or anything else that affects the description file is done
in a directory, the orphaned description is lost, so he can't
reasonably save %trash's description unless he immediately
recrates %trash. If the description is standardized, just a
"Thunder Byte virus-checking data file" or whatever in each
dir, it's probably better to simply globally recreate it
(global /hiq describe %trash "whatever") from root than
try to preserve it in the absence of the file.
