The events I described are well laid out in the classic trilogy (which I 
do much prefer, by the way); the prequels fill in the backstory we had 
pretty much figured out (we knew that Anakin/Vader was a Jedi and became 
a Sith, and saw him revert to the honor of a Jedi at the end).
