I kind of see it as one heck of a midlife crisis.  I mean, he got the 
shiny, speedy car, the spiffy new clothes, and all the really cool toys 
(I'm not sure about the bimbo girlfriend, but I'll let that go as George 
doesn't write that sort of thing very well).
