I'm Quoting Jonathan Fingass post to Ken Pretty:
 -=snip=-
JF> as you usually see. In one Quake I map, there are 105 enemies on
JF> NORMAL difficulty, I think. Now, let's face it - what's the likelihood
JF> that one lone person, no matter how heavily-armed, can take all those
JF> people out? In reality, a dozen would probably leave you gasping for
JF> air by the time you've killed them all. That's probably the ideal with
 JF> Prey.
KP> most people dont want to kill just one thing..thats boring...
KP> who do you know plays 2 player deathmatch? or spawns just one reaper
t?
JF> You're assuming that this target is easy to kill, which WOULD make
JF> it boring. What if you're pelting the walls with gunfire as your
JF> target dives for cover? That's Hollywood-level excitement.
You know, I think that there could be a game with a sniper or assassin as
t's
main character. It would have to push a little into the realm of an RPG, but
just a little. No conversation or boring chat windows but finding and
disassembling weapons, sure. Perhaps having to remember or write down a code
or some sequence, as opposed to three colored keys/cards. And perhaps if you
had money, where you had to buy ammo, as opposed to, "Oh holy monkeys,
there's a big ___ case of rockets and nobody noticed it sitting here!"
Scopes, flash surpressors, silencers, trigger improvements, glass bedding,
better ammo( armor piercing, larger caliber, explosive tip, tracer),
better weapons( larger caliber, more options, better sights, more accurate,
heavier) cool gear for hiding, spying and getting in buildings.
I could continue, but really you get the idea.
