CH> I give up. There's a lady in my little email group who is still brand
CH> new to emailing attachments. SO brand new you want to cry. Because
CH> when you ask her every so sweetly and apologetically to use blind
CH> carbon copies she seems to think "what do you have to hide'?

RW> If she can't do that, then ask her to leave you out of her mailing
RW> list.

RW> I"ve been known to do that to plenty of folks who think I want all
RW> those binaries, pictures of this, pictures of that, pdf files I can't
RW> read, etc. THe same joke I've seen a hundred times before, and the
RW> forwarding list just gets longer.

It's incredible how insensitive people can be. I read letters to Miss
Manners (back in FW when we had her column in the Star Telegram. Not
sure if Orlando Sentinel carries it as we don't get it every day.)

It's amazing. People ask personal questions of total strangers! Or in
email someone who knows you hare deaf is always talking about music
and music technology. I feel like asking them: Is this a test?

The thing of it is, they just do not stop and think. If ask them to
stop and think they take offense though it is clear you were the one
offended. SO I suppose we just have to take the high road and ignore
them. YOu can just delete the stuff you can't read Richard, or put the
sender in your block box.

I don't know what is wrong with me. My sister does not like getting
fowards/pics at all and I don't send her any, except personal pics or
articles I think she will be interested in. Why do I grant her this
request? Why don't I keep sending her stuff she does not want? I
think because I know if I kept ticking her off, she would not want to
email with me anymore. And frankly, I care. I enjoy a good
communication relationship with my sister. I guess with others, it
doesn't matter to them if you stick them in your block box. So be it.

This one gal in my email group, I put in the block box today. She has
been asked to not forward messages from people in HER group with whom
the rest of us do not correspond. Turns out I'm not the only one who
has dropped her off their list. Plus the fact she uses that dog for
saken "Incredible mail" which if you have ever received anything from
it, is very hard to edit. You end up having to convert to plain text
or top quote. It uses all kinds of fancy fonts/ and icons. Fun for
kids but not my cup of tea. Nobody I know likes it.

...............

RW> I used to have a nice little text file which a friend of mine penned
RW> for a networking class on netiquette. He reminded folks that relatives
RW> and friends would actually like to hear from you in a personal way,
RW> not just endless forwarded jokes.

RW> THat's your best course of action imho.

I agree. A lot of jokes going around have been around so many times I
wonder. Isn't there ANYTHING new? Now and then I get something new and
that is so nice! Those are the ones I respond to.
