There wasn't a threat at all ... maybe a very convenient goof.
 
Look, when it suits the purpose us here in Europe have heard time and again we
do not master the english language enough to understand all the intracacies.
 
But when someone writes something like Alex did, it is automatically a
well-inted and well-versed threat by a person who suddenly "is" capable of
expressing himself clearly and without margin of doubt?
