Crocheted MouseTail Cat Toy
Materials:  Worsted weight yarn
Hook:  4 mm hook

Instructions:
Materials:  Yarn and appropriate size crochet hook.  I use worsted weight
yarn and a 3.5 - 4.5 mm hook (around sz G or H aluminum hook, I have the
conversion chart at home, but can't quite remember).
FACE: Chain 4.
Rnd 1: 11 dc in fourth ch from hook. Join with sl st to top of chain (three
of the ch sts are the first dc, the other ch is the base for all the dc
sts).  12 dc.
Rnd 2: sc in ea dc. Join with sl st to first sc.  12 sc.  Do not bind off.
EARS:
*ch 3, 6 dc in same st, ch 3 and sl st into same st (it will look like a
fan)*.  Sl st into next 3 sc. Repeat btw *..*; 2 ears made.  Do not bind off.
BODY:
sc one round increasing 2-4 sts evenly around (depends on how fat you want
the mouse to be); do not join.  Continue to sc in rounds without joining
for length of body; I usually make it about 2 inches.  Stuff mouse with
extra yarn.  I use some red yarn (wrap it around 3-4 fingers) and cover it
with the same yarn as the mouse (wrap it over the red yarn) and twist the
stuffing into the mouse: put one end of the yarn bunch into the mouse and
twist it (like opening a jar) to get it into the mouse.  Amount of stuffing
depends on how firm you want the mouse to be.
BUTT:
dec 1 sc every two sc (meaning sc two st tog) until only 3-4 sts left, then
*put hook through top of next st, yo, draw yarn through st*, repeat until
all remaining sc are picked up onto hook, yo and pull all loops through.
Bind off, but do not cut yarn.
TAIL:
pull up loop through end of mouse. ch 400 or so depending on the length you
want. I usually make the tail about 4-5 ft long.  Bind off.
