Well you want to consider the times. Things have changed a bunch since NT
3.10 and WFWG came out. Some people seem to forget that. Win NT 3.10 and WFWG
are about the same lineage. Niether one of them compare with OS's that are 5
years newer than they are. I gave you a comparison between NT 3.10 and WFWG
based on my exerience running both for a couple of years. I have since moved
on to the newer versions of NT and Windows 95, which with newer equipment is
better than either Win NT or WFWG, but I had understood that you were only
going to run either NT 3.10 or WFWG 3.11. In networking NT 3.10 is
considerably better than WFWG. In running Desktop apps, WFWG is probably
better than NT 3.10 although I never had any difficulty running any DOS or 16
bit WIN app that I used in NT 3.10 except 16 bit FOSSIL driven BBS software,
and even with that crap, after a lot of horsing around, I got it to work
"passably" (but not -real- good).
I did run a BBS with NT 3.10, but I am here to tell you that running a 16 bit
FOSSIL driven BBS with any version of NT, -especailly- NT 3.10 is not very
good. Takes lots of farting around with just to get at best, mediocre
results. With NT 4.0 you can use Winfossil for NT and that works very well
for running 16 bit DOS fossil driven BBS software. NT 3.10 will allow you run
32 bit Binkley and Maximus/NT though. You won't be able to spawn any 16 bit
DOORs or other 16 bit BBS stuff if you run Bink32 or Max/NT in any version of
NT though.

I doubt Windows NT for dummies covers NT 3.10. The way it sets up and runs is
pretty much the same as WFWG 3.11 except it is 32 bit. Don't forget that when
you install it it will migrate your WFWG destop and allow you to dual boot
either DOS/WFWG or Windows NT 3.10. It will use about 60meg of Disk space.
The two headaches you might have with it is whether it supports your CD-ROM
and Network Cards. NT 3.10 was very limited in the CD-ROM's it supported
right out of the box, including IDE ones. SCSI CD-ROM works fine with it. If
your CD-ROM is not SCSI, you might see if your MFG included an NT 3.1 driver
with it.
