I tend to disagree on that. Kirk had the ability to make his own decisions in 
a desperate situation. However, he will allways consult Spock and MCcoy in 
certain situations. Thatst he way GR designed it. The three made a great team 
becouse they each represented vital parts of humanity... Logic and Intelect. 
Emotionalism and Humor. Deciveness and Skill.
