Verizon, and other service providers, are complying with a "request"
from the NY AG to remove usenet groups that distribute child porn.  So
to ensure they are in fact complying, they're dumping everything but
the Big 8.  Methinks that they're probably using that "request" as an
excuse to lighten their bandwidth load.
