RW> I agree...Tom is just more outspoken on some topics.

I am too a lot of times.. but alas this topic is one that goes into the
'exericse in futility' I guess. People will do what they want no
matter what and ah well what can ya do. Just do what YOU want and be
happy, I guess. :) It's not like we're forced to watch tv. heaven's
forbid. Those who make bad choices often cause hardship for all, but
then no harder than on themselves in the long run.

CH> way too much .. advertising and now the FCC is looking into AD's

RW> Now that's interesting. I was just thinking to myself that something
RW> should be done about the advertising during a program. It's bad enough

Yes. When consumers get sick enough of this Out of control excess
THEN something will change. But I can't say, for the better.

RW> that they have to take a commercial break, then continue to advertise
RW> during the program. I'll have to look that up on the FCC website and
RW> put my two cents worth into it.

Not all commercials are bad. Most are just plain entertainment,
hoping you'll buy the product by remembering the commercial was so
good. ah well. But a lot of them are misleading and some are even
dangerous in they promote the S word. ((And by saying: don't try this
at home: they encougge it!)).

People will counter saying we need ads to have tv and the internet.
Okay okay okay but do we need the AMOUNT and in excessive cost/
in your face quality? No.

Successful business hardly have to advertise. Word of mouth is free.
Ad agencies are 'in it' for themselves, not the product they promote.
