Some measure of decriminalization of pot has already happened here. The
cops have been ordered not to enforce laws against possession of small
amounts, and people with certain medical conditions can use it, and
even grow it, legally. Mind you, I have seen the forms that have to be
filled in by the patient and his doctor. Being able to make sense of
them guarantees that you can't be stoned!

As for sex for 12-year olds... What kids do among themselves is subject
only to juvenile law, which is pretty lenient. What adults might do
*to* kids is a whole other matter, and is definitely *not* treated
leniently here. In fact (and here I think the law has gone too far), it
is illegal here to possess "child pornography", even if it consists of
pictures that have been generated purely by computers, without any
child having taken part, or of textual descriptions of sex involving
kids which has been written purely as fiction.

-> tripped over a stand of $NZ10 garden lights in the supermarket - 2

-> chargers and car fans, and you've got a hell of a lot of CFC
-> washing going on somewhere else in the world...

My ladyfriend has a set of those lights, which came 4 to a pack, for
about $30 Cdn. They do work for the purpose for which she uses them, to
mark the edge of her lawn so people don't drive over it. But they don't
produce enough light to *illuminate* anything. And the solar cells are
pretty small, I'd guess about 4 cm square

China. That's where to go to appreciate the beauty of modern pollution.
