"Help us Captain ! We're being attacked by mutant Alexs!"

SA>>-> Great stuff. You use electric fencing? Very useful, but don't use
SA>>-> the orange string stuff - horses can't see it very well. Use white
AS>-> Yup! we use that type of fencing......we have loads of the white
AS>-> tape but the newest is the orange. I don't know about the horse not
AS>-> seeing orange very well. I have on occasion, taken a tumble over
AS>-> the orange tape and been given a "Zap" by the Bug for my trouble
Hurts, don't it? :)
We use the electric rope, much stronger for long lengths - we've
got about four mile set up in three stages. Never had one go
through it accidentally (though occasionally when the battery's flat
they will push under) and it lasts for ages.
SA>>-> Oh yeah, forgot about Bute. Apparently the EU have passed a law
SA>>-> banning it in Europe at the beginning of next year. Another half-
AS>-> Yes! I knew of that already........if some people stopped eating
AS>-> horse meat then the EC would not have to worry about it getting into
AS>-> the food chain. e.g. It isn't going to harm anyone in the UK!!
We're not going to stop anyone eating horsemeat (it's actually
quite nice) but the horses who are on bute tend to be old and
infirm anyway, and wouldn't be used for human consumption.
All very silly, and I hope the ruling gets overturned.
AS>-> I'm rather hoping that the drug companies will bring out an
AS>-> alternative......it must be a pretty good earner, 'cos just about
AS>-> everyone has some of it lying around.
F'sure. But they did the same thing a few years ago with a dog anti-
everything wash, Alugan. Wonderful stuff that, but they banned it.
Had an emergancy call today; a six month old Shire was due to
be put down as he had a hernia and the owner wouldn't pay for
it to be treated. The vet called us, we rang around and found
somebody who would take him (the ILPH) but not for a couple of
days, so we went out and got him. Bugger to load, though mostly
sound.
Beats me why someone would buy a colt foal like that (cost quite
a bit, too) then get rid of him for the cost of an operation.
Foal cost around a œ1000, but the operation would only cost a
couple of hundred. Weird.
