I personally use Agent32 from Forte. The only other news readers I've had 
experience with are TIN and NN. In order of preference, I'd have to use 
Agent32 then NN, then TIN. OTOH, I did like NN's interface...
Agent32 DOES support authentication, although I've never used that option 
since my ISP's news server doesn't require/use that.
