subject: digital recording on a PC

-> I've been thinking about using my home PC to do some home recording.
-> gotten some information on a Yamaha CBX-5, digital recording processo
-> the software, CUBASE AUDIO (by Steinberg). I will be buying myself a
-> computer that will be designed around home recording. Can anybody he
-> with the following questions?:
->
-> What would be my computer requirements? i.e. should it be a Pentium,
-> 1 GIG HD, how much RAM, etc.
->As far as recording, look into two other programs first.
SAW and Samplitude. SAW is especially a hot prg.

Hardware? A big issue is a fast hard drive. SCSI is a good bet.
and you'll want ate LEAST a 486-66.
As for hard drive size, A gig is pretty much standard.

Cards? DON"T use soundblaster. CardD is a GREAT digital recording
card. Other than that Turtle beach also makes some great cards for
recording. (Tahiti, Monterey)
