-=> Quoting KATHY JOHNSON to SUE TURO <=-
KJ> That's good, that he eats well. You might consider picking up an
KJ> inexpensive gram scale, just so you can keep tabs on their weight.
KJ> Sometimes weight loss is the only way to tell a bird is beginning to
KJ> have a health problem. I check my pets' weights once a month or so,
KJ> just as insurance.
Ok...will do...first chance I get...;-)
KJ> he thinks that I'm suppose to feed him before myself...
KJ> Silly girl, you ARE! Didn't you read the fine print in the contract
KJ> when you bought him?
He he he...no I didn't...but that is ok...I love the little
guy...;-) I'm still having trouble liking her...;-)
> I tried fixing him his own plate...but he wants mine....;-)
KJ> To quote from "Cats": They only want what they find for themselves...
He he he...that fits...he is a busy little guy...he doesn't
get into too much...that he shouldn't but he is busy...she on the
other hand..is now getting into everything...;-)
KJ> Sooner or later, he'll start following her lead. I have one tiel here
KJ> who isn't afraid of anything. Once Benny has looked the new item over
KJ> (Be it food, a toy or a perch), everyone else heaves a great sigh of
KJ> relief and goes to inspect it too.
He hehe...I've noticed him watching everything she does...can't
wait to see him hang upside down on the swing...but he looks at
her as if she is nuts....;-)
> I was leery about bringing a strange bird in my apartment...I
> really don't have room to quarantine and I don't want to put my
> babies at risk...;-)
KJ> VERY good move!
I've been watching and have learned from all of the posts...I
read all of them...I call my parrot packet my bird fix for the
day...;-)
KJ> Got a nice houseplant that would like to grow in and out of those
KJ> bars? It's the "IN" decorating style these days, I hear!
> No housplants...I have a tendency to forget to water them...and
> that would be just one more thing that I would have to keep
> Scoobie away from...
KJ> Get a silk one. They don't need water, just dusting!
I could do that...but I want to get rid of this cage and get them
a big one that will give them more room....and I really want to
try different size perches and a better variety of toys...;-)
> Thank you for all the help you and everyone else on this echo
>has given me...I don't think my babies would be as healthy as they are
> with out the help you have all given me...;-) Thanks Folks...;-)
KJ> Awwww, gee, thanks! That's why we're here!
I really appreciate it...from the posts I got before I got my
little guy...his home was set up and ready for him....and I
didn't feel nervous...I felt confident that I could provide him
with what he needed to have a good life....;-) Although I didn't
count on him wanting more and more...right now we are working on
him not screaming when he wants out...;-)
Thanks again...;-)
Sue, Scoobie Doo...and Princess...;-)
