Well, the ACTH assay came back normal...so the vets at Tufts are saying this
is not a pituitary problem..the high insulin count was probably an
aberration...
So, we're back to square one. Ortho surgeon at Tufts reviewed the x-rays and
said that there was mild rotation in both feet, nothing he could see in her
ankle, and that our course of action was probably shoeing to make her
comfortable and to take pressure off the sole. So, we're back to increased
angles (what my farrier wanted to do in the first place) and bute for a short
stint, as she was really lame on Thursday. She's better with these, so we'll
see. Only going to keep her on the bute for a short period of time...tummy
troubles and all that.
Glad the ACTH stuff was OK, but now we're back to not knowing the cause of
all this, so that's frustrating. Ah well..
BTW, Shiloh's fine (VBG)! And we got 6 inches of snow this weekend...a
little early, what?
