Hi Jim

Yes, they are carnivours and although most adult Harbor seals hate
people(But we want them to otherwise fisherman will kill them if they
try to get into their fish---We've had many a Seal or Sea lion shot by
fisherman---I guess fisherman don't have the respect for Marine life
the way that Scuba divers do!!!!!) But yes it is very fulfilling
although lately I have not been able to make the 2 hour drive to the
Bay area from Sacramento, due to having mechanical problems with my
vehicle so I hope my problems with my truck will be over soon so I can
continue with my experiences with the Marine Mammal Center, helping to
assist in the care of these graceful swimmers is wonderful. As for the
pups they are actually very friendly when we get the pups and we have
to play serrogate mothers for them to teach them to get into the water
and to eat the fish(we tube feed them at first trying to get their
vitamins and body fat built up-it's a high fat, high nutrient formula)
You ought to try burping these babies they weigh 20-25 lbs at first and
they are nuzzling and so cute but this particular one that bit me was
dying of neurological problems so it's bite to me was it's last fight
to live really---they go down fighting.
As for the subject of scrapes---Thailand????? Wow, must be beautiful
but primitive in some ways. As for me the most out of the country I
have ever been in is some of the border towns in Mexico, along the
California, Arizona and Texas borders But I'd love to dive areas like
Palau, Truk, and Cancun, or Cozomel But then I haven't had much chance
to dive in California But hopefully soon.
Well, I'd like to hear more about Thailand some time. Thanks for writin
back.
