DW :>Hi Meg,
DW :> What's all this about Lyme Titre?? Is is Lyme
DW :>Disease and are its symptoms like Lyme Disease in dogs? My
DW :>concern, of course, are my 2 boys, Talko and KC. Are there
DW :>equine vaccines for this? I am always in search of an
DW :>equine education. Sure hope your dilemma proves to be
DW :>minor and all turns out ok. Delores Warder
We did the Lyme titre as sort of a last resort. Just wanted to make sure
that this lameness wasn't more than the laminitis from this spring (or not
the secondary cause). From what I gather, there is some controversy about
Lyme in horses. Some feel it is a valid concern and some not. There is no
vaccine, as far as I know. Unless you live in a high risk area for Lyme, I
wouldn't get too worried.
Glad to see you're they type of horseman who is interested in keeping
informed!
Our "dilemma" seems to be the after effects of laminitis this spring. All
other tests were negative, although on the high negative side. If things
don't improve with shoeing, we'll go further, but I think we've ruled out
just about everything else.
