I thought about doing what you suggest at first but decided that since the IREX documentation says it's supposed to work the way I'm doing it, I'd give it a shot. :-) But since you have the same problem, I guess that IREX doesn't work the way that I envisioned. I'm sure that if I add Gert's node # to the IREX node manager, it'll FREQ just fine..
